Here is more info on our guest speaker Mr Andrew Scipione AO APM. Commissioner of the New South Wales Police Force.

Mr. Scipione joined the NSW Police Force in 1980. He gained experience in many areas and in 1985 was seconded to the National Crime Authority of Australia. He has held a range of positions including the Commander of the Special Technical Investigation Branch (STIB), Chief of Staff to the NSW Police Commissioner and Commander of Special Crime and Internal Affairs.

Mr. Scipione was appointed Deputy Commissioner in 2002 and as Commissioner of Police on 1st Sept 2007.

After 10 years as Commissioner, he retired on the 31st March 2017.

Commissioner Scipione is a recipient of the Australian Police Medal and National Medal.  In June 2016 he was named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List and received the Office in the General Division of the Order of Australia.


Throughout his life Andrew has been guided by a deep faith in Christ and this has been reflected in all aspects of his career and personal life.  Andrew will discuss how these values have shaped and directed his approach to dealing with major police events through to personal challenges. What in life really matters and how do we get that focus to stay sharp.
