Consumers spend $90 million on clothes each year, or $3500 per household.
Every 10 minutes in Australia 6000kg of fashion and textiles are thrown away.
30% of clothes purchased have not been worn for a year.
One way that we can reduce the environmental and social impacts of the fast-fashion world we live in is by reusing and recycling our old clothes! So NBC Youth is hosting a Clothes Swap!
WHEN: 7:00-9pm, Friday 22nd November
WHAT: The clothes will be available to browse from 7:00-8:00, then there will be a short presentation from Baptist World Aid about the importance of thinking ethically about our clothes and consumption.
BRING: 5-10 items to give away would be great! Please bring clothing on coat hangers, making sure items are clean and free from rips and stains. If you feel you don't have anything to swap - never fear - you will be able to buy tokens at the door.
What isn’t reused will be donated to charity.
